Bethesda will host a GDC 2016 session to discuss the creation of Fallout 4's open world.
The session, titled "Fallout 4's Modular Level Design," will provide an inside look at how Bethesda Game Studios was able to craft the game's massive wasteland in a comparatively short time frame.
Senior Designer Joel Burgess and Lead Artist Nathan Purkeypile will discuss the process of using modular art kits and iterative level design to create Fallout 4's large and detailed locales. Additionally, the session will share how smaller teams can make use of these tools when creating open worlds of their own.
