Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), the writer adapting Stephen King's The Stand, is now directing another King adaptation.
Deadline reports that The Stand has verbal commitments from some cast members and that Boone is still determined to make it. The project has reverted to CBS Films after Warner Bros.'s option ended, and it may get shopped to another studio.
While all that is sorted, Boone wrote and will direct an adaptation of the 2014 King novel Revival. He hopes to direct it this year, and thinks it can be done fairly quickly and for a reasonable budget. Boone and producer Michael De Luca have submitted the Revival script to Universal Studios as part of Boone's first-look deal.
