The latest rumor surrounding Apple's next iPhone suggests the smartphone will do away with the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Apple-focused, Japanese site Macotakara, citing a "reliable source," states the decision to remove the headphone jack will be a result of Apple trying to make the phone 1 mm thinner than the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
In place of the headphone jack will be an audio-enabled lightning port, which will allow owners to use the lightning-enabled earbuds that will come packed in. If anyone doesn't want to use those, however, they can always resort to bluetooth headphones, or invest in a converter.
