What phone will you go to next?

The Pure is an awesome phone. It has been my favorite and could be perfect with a bit better battery life.

Time marches on and I can't say I am enthused with the new Moto line coming out. Also not sure about Lenovo.

It just doesn't feel right that Moto is no longer American.

So what are you folks planning on going to next?

I would love a stripped down Sony or HTC. Not keen on Samsung. Apple, only if they offer a model with stock Android[emoji13].

[Q] Gear Fit 2 / Moto G 2014 - Gear Manager doesn't find watch on Moto G 2014

Hi guys,
I was trying to get the gear fit 2 working with my moto g (2014) (Android 6 resurrection remix from). The Bluetooth settings can see the watch and pair, but the gear manager doesn't find a 'compatible gear'.
I'm using the gear manager for non Samsung phones.
Anyone with this phone was able to connect? Does anyone know a fix for this?

Not root and twrp recovery after Geniysis 4.3

Hi everyone.
Thank you all for being so supportive and intelligent.

My long story short is
I rooted my phone successfully through Xda Thread.
Then unlocked the bootloader through LG website as I wanted to install Twrp and without unlocking I couldn't do it. And finally I installed the Custom rom i-e Geniysis 4.3
Installation was successful but my phone froze a lot after using it for a min or less. When the phone was turned on, I could access SuperSu and TWRP. But due to continuously freezing, I wiped out the cache, Delvik etc and factory reset it from Twrp recovery mode with the hope to get it done. But it was freezing continuously and very frequently. It was very frustating. Everytime my phone froze I removed the battery to restart it.
When for the second time I turned it on, there was no SuperSu and twrp recovery and when I run the root check I was unrooted.
My bootloader is unlocked but no custom recovery mode and root. Plus I have an in-built app Rebooter(doesn't work). And I have root browser as well.

I love the rom but it freezes a lot and I want my Lg G4 to be rooted and have TWRP recovery mode so I can flash roms etc.

Please help me.

Can't root Micromax bolt d320

i have once rooted my phone and edited build.prop file and set my android version to 5.1 actually its 4.4.2 and then i deleted the dalvik cache from root directory now my phone is unrooted and when i try to root it from kingoroot it completes the process and rebootes but phone doesn't root. also tried framaroot.

Installing google playstore in lyf flame 6

I have been searching a method to install playstore in my LYF Flame 6. I really love this phone and the only one demerit I found was absence of Google play services hence we cant use playstore or any google related products such as Gmail, youtube, map and so 'n so. Finally I had found a solution to install Google playstore in flame 6. I'll explain it set by step. Currently my phone's OS version is 5.1 so I'm not sure about 5.1.1.

1. Install kingroot to gain root access.
2. Install FlahFire. hence, currently there is no custom recovery for flame 6, we have to use FlahFire to flash Gapps.
3. Open FlashFire grand root access, now add the provided playstore_flash.zip file. Remember I had tried many Gapps(pico) but every time the installation get aborted due to insufficient system storage space, so please use provided Gapp zip file.

Now you should see Google playstore is installed along with google play services. Beside this I had provided additional file called Google contact sync, install it if you want to sync your google contacts.

Stamina cause extra background data consumption.

Hi All,

I have a X performance recently and find a problem when I turn on the Stamina Mode. I find that onec I start the SM, the battery consumption screen will show that Android OS also use most of the battery (even more than the screen). Then I click into the Android OS, it show be that it has a lot of "mobile packets sent". From the picture I upload, it is form morning 07:30am to 12:45pm. It sent 110050 packets out. Then I check the data usage page, it stat the Android OS use up 133MB starting from my last factroy reset on 28th July.





Actually I tried many things before I post here. Like closing all google backup, location setting, syn etc... But it still the same. Even when I hard reset the XP and just put the googld account back (without syn anything). It will still the same problem. Every time when I start the SM mode, the Android OS will sent a lot of packets. But turn off the SM, it will return to normal.

What's wrong with the device? Anyone have the same issue? I google it before but seems no one have the same problem.

Most hardcore case setup for outdoor activity

Hey guys.. Ive read reviews on cases and all seem pretty ok for city activity... however after a few years of running the obex on my s4 I decided to take it off and fix some issues with the case... would you believe the one day that I have it off I dump it on a teeny weeny rock and shatter my screen... well back to my question... I sit in freezing snow, climb 20 ft into trees and throw my phone when needed... If I were to buy this phone tomorrow what would be the best case set up for screen and corners.. I need bullet proof. I haven't pulled the trigger on the phone yet because of the edge and the way it seems to be unprotected by most cases... Thanks in advance I really want to buy this but Im afraid ill have to go with the g7 instead of the edge.. :(

New Launcher Idea

I've asked this question before but I'm looking for a Launcher alternative. Back in 1995 there was a PC operating system competing with Windows. I think it was called Xerox Tabs, but I cannot confirm that.
The home screen looked like a Franklin Daily Planner with Tabs on the side.
I'd like an Android launcher like that. I'd like to be able to customize the tabs, what opens each time you click the tab, and the over all appearance of the launcher.
I've seen something similar called Opus Dimini in iPad, but it's not a launcher. I've also used this:



But it's not exactly what I'm looking for. I think we would need more than just a theme, but really a launcher with pages that flip, and you can display anything from widgets to icons and folders.

Is anyone up to this? Or know of something that would work?

help please

i screwed up i unlocked my bootloader and installed twrp that worked fine reboted into android relocked my bootloader (stupid i know now) phone didnt reboot so i ran the fastboot reboot command now system wont boot stuck on the your password was correct but my data is corrupt screen and when i go to rest the phone it wont boot into recovery just a yellow line flashes and the led comes on white im pretty sure my recovery has been deleted and also running anything in fastboot gives some error about my bootloader being locked

Access BL and stock recovery but stuck in logo

good night. my brother has a moto g on the 5.1 version i guess, never rooted or custom recovery. after a 0% battery and no charge, the device stucked in logo of motorola
the first option is save the device, but data is very important to rescue, so it's priority to me.

the BL was locked, to try flash something i unlock it without loose data, i guess...
i can access BL, 41,1A version. tried fastboot and mfastboot to flash 5.0.2 retail rom and 5.1 stock with no success, boot loop of warning!!
can acess recovery, but can wipe data/factory reset, give a error and boot loop.
adb it's only sideload, and give error of footer, no install any of any file.
on adb apply update from sdcard i can view all my folders that i want to bkp, but how i get them? push and pull doesn't work.

I'm doing something wrong, just do not know what it is...
can someone help me? i read a lot of threads!!

What's the Best Way to Get Into Recovery Mode?

So, this is a really dumb question, but I suppose better to ask than mess something up.

So I finally rooted my Z5 Compact with this excellent guide, and everything went off without a hitch. The guide had me set my bootloader back to "Bootloader unlock allowed" before I was done, which, if I'm understanding things correctly, means that I relocked the bootloader (or at least, it looks locked).

My issue is this. I'd like to install this audio tweak, but the instructions require me to put the device into Recovery Mode (CWM or TWRP or Philz Recovery). First, what's the best way of doing that, and second, is that going to require me re-unlocking my bootloader, or is my bootloader actually already unlocked?If I have to unlock my boot loader again, does that mean I need to restore my DRM keys again?

Okay, so I've never owned an international phone before, but what's the difference between owning a phone like the Oneplus versus owning like a Samsung. Is the band 13 a huge deal? Unlocking More Bands?

Hey!

From what I've read online it looks like all S7 Edges are built identically which means that the bands must be controlled by software. Are there any firmwares, patches, or tricks that enable other bands? I have a Verizon S7 Edge on T-Mobile so I'm mainly looking to unlock band 12. I saw this post: http://ift.tt/2aoNfLM but im not sure if that will unlock the bands or not. VoLTE and WiFi-Calling would be a plus.

S7 edge possible defect question

I just got my second silver s7 edge since my first one had a horrible battery life.

After getting this one and looking in bright light where the phone shines, I notice at the top of the phone under the glass on the edge of the silver foil stuff, it has a wrinkled look across the whole top.

I don't notice it on the bottom which seems to be the same exact dimensions, and also don't notice it on the back.

I tried to take a picture but the picture is very hard to pick up on camera and looks a lot worse in person.

I want to make sure this is normal or not because I didn't remember seeing it on my other s7 edge

Send a file via SMS

Hi.
I asked this question in stackoverflow, but no one answered me. (just two minus vote)
This is almost a Yes/No question, but I would appreciate it if you give me a complete answer.
Is this possible to send a file (e.g. APK or image files) using SMS?
I know a SMS packet has 140 byte size limitation, and I have to send several SMS messages to send a file.
Except SMS messages, is it possible send an application on GSM?

[Request CM]CM 12.1 porting for Micromax E483

I have ported a twrp for Micromax E483...Now the way is open for developers to create or port custom roms like cm,pacman ROM etc..
But as I have a little knowledge about porting or modifying ROMs,I am begging to the developers if they take time in porting ROMs to our device...

What's AOSP ?

LG g3 vs g2

Hi,

Since i broke my old G2 i was thinking about buying G3. Looking thru forum reviews I've noticed that G2 is much better (in general) device than G3. Is it just me or? Battery lasts longer, pictures look much better also performance overall seems to be much better and faster on G2 than on G3. So what's your experience about that? Should I get G3 over g2?

G4 Making Unlock Sound Play Full Length

Hello,
One thing I always play with while rooted are system ui sounds, especially lock/unlock sounds. I have been wondering for the longest time if there is some way to make the unlock sound play it's full length, rather than only about a second. (i.e. circlemosaic_unlock, hulahoops_unlock) The thing is, the locking sound (i.e. hulahoops_lock) plays for as long as the sound file is.. or at least multiple seconds longer than the unlock sound.
I have never had a "touchdown" sound longer than a second, so I'm not sure how long that one plays, but any insight/help would be so much appreciated.
(I would finally be able to let the engine roar in my Jaguar F-Type lockscreen pack!) :p

Should I still buy it in 2016?

I want to buy a phone and I have a budget of 160$. I have found a Droid Turbo online for around 158$ and I find it perfect for me because it has an okay camera, good hardware and a fine size. The seller claims it to be on KK and say that it is GSM unlocked and will work on Verizon also. Will it work on my carrier if I update it to MM in the future? If it locks the network, how can I unlock it again?

LG Leon not flashing zip files from twrp recovery!!

The screenshots above says whats occurring when im trying install some custom rom like xenon hd and unnoficial cyanogenmod.
I already made a full wipe and nothing and the first time that i finally flashade this 2 custom roms i get a bsod (blue screen of death) i tried making a factory reset and the problem persist, putting off the battery too and i tried let off the phone charging all the night and nothing!!
This problem made me restore my stock rom and now i want to know that have any issue to this!!!

As a user do i need to download the .asc file before flashing xposed?

I tried to flash xposed so many times but it didn't work. I have Samsung Galaxy S5 marshmallow 6.0.1 ARMv7.
And while downloading the .zip file i found another file .asc which idk what is it for (I'm new to rooting, xposed and all of this) so i start to wonder if this small file has something to do with the installation.
I tried to flash the .zip file with TWRP.
Any help will be much appreciated :o

My device is rooted an i accidentally deleted NVRAM Partition
NVRAM Partition is not in FTF file so, I kindly ask if someone with a rooted Xperia M5 running stock firmare (the firmware version/device variant doesn't matter, it can be from doul SIM devices too) could run the following commands from ADB and then upload the file that will be pulled from the phone here:

The device is lg-x 150 bello 2 Lollipop 5.02
Then because I'm a Noob try an xposed Installer from utube it was from terminal without flashing after this the device started optimised the Apps till 88 of 140 and started new and then Stück an Bootlogo with the circle
I tryed to put the phone on PC but the PC can t recognize anything im not able to do anything


I tryed to wipe everything Factory Reset with Android Recovery nothing I haven't any custum recovery
I there any possibility to u install the script manunally

lock screen lags

Hi everyone, just want to ask for help on my S7 edge. Everytime when i put my s7 edge on my pocket then if someone calls or sms me, when i got my phone out of my pocket then when i tried to swipe to answer to after a finger print open may phones lags. I touch screen is not accurate. What i need to do is to lock the screen again using the power button then open if again then all is well. This only happen when my phone is in my pocket but when my phone is outside my pocket and got notification all is OK. Can anyone tried to simulate this please. Or is anyone encounter this too and how to solve this.

Problem with Lumia 535 camera

Hello,
My lumia 535 camera (both front and back) are not working. Camera app force closing with error code: A00F4246(E8010001). Problem appeared after updating to wp10. (Worked for about 2 months after wp10. I think problem came after an update only, not sure). I tried hard reset and performed os reinstall with Windows device recovery tool.

I gave my phone to a nokia authorized service center and they said they'll change camera modules but that didn't help either. A quick google search of the error code reveals that many people have the same problem, so I'm thinking may be it's a firmware issue.

No Notifitactions reach the Watch, not even the Test Notifications of the Wear app

I searched trough all settings on the phone and on the watch, i restarted both many many times and i unpaired and paired them again many times... and still its not working

The last time i Paired them it worked for the Test notification and for like 2-3 whatsapp messages, also Music control and everything was working. Only one minute later everything stopped working, it says its connected but i dont receive notifications(including the test notifications of wear app) on the watch, i cant control my music. The app and the watch still says they are connected...

As a phone im using a HTC one M8, all permissions for the watch are given (it has to cauz it worked for those 2 minuted ) and i cant find the problem.

i own the watch since october last year and never had a problem like this. For most of the time i was using my Nexus 5 but it had some terrible problems with the battery and then i decided to switch over to an old M8 which worked "ok". Do you think the problem may be the phone? i dont think so cauz with the m8 it worked for weeks

I really dont have any idea what i can do :/ Hopefully you can help me out

lg g4 root issue

hello guys
need yout help, tried searching google for sulotion but came up empty.
ive rooted the lg g4 h815 before via iroot pc but after factory reset its returned to be unrooted.
when i try to root again its keep failing because of debugging issue (the software keep telling me its not in debugging altough it is)
i think the problem is when i do usb debugging - connecting to pc the option is checked in the check box but it turns gray.whats the problem is? how can i fix it ?

STUCK ON FLYME I am on flyme 5 global version. I have flashed custom recover via LOGO

I am on flyme 5 global version. I have flashed custom recover via flasify. after some tym phone switched of suddenly n get stucked on flyme logo. I am not sure whethere my debugging mode is on or off. The problem is now I am not able to get into recovery(stock & custom) mode. Only I can get into fastboot mode. But I have tried lots of fastboot commands to flash my phone but failed. every time it says booting...FAILED (remote: unknown command) or download for partition 'recovery' is not allowed. I went to my locaL repairing center but they failed also. Service center is too far from our locality.


Seeking for your help.. Kindly help me to get back my phone.

can someone here please clear up a few questions for me?

first of all, I'm new to android Modding and I was able to flash the unofficial CM12 rom and before that I'd also taken a nandoroid backup of my stock Rom. Now I have a few questions and was wondering if someone could point me to the right direction.

So, now that I'm on twrp for new layout, will I have to go back to the old twrp in order to flash older roms such as those based on kitkat and jelly bean etc?

If I flash the old twrp now, will the Nandoroid backup (that I took earlier) on the 'twrp for new layout' work? In other words, are the backups taken from twrp with new layout are compatible with the older twrp ?

since this new cm12 seems to be a bit sluggish and I want to flash a kitkat rom while I'm on this cm12, will I have to do it from old twrp? And if so, what about going back to older layout? How is it generally done?


And lastly, I have noticed that some roms come with custom kernels. How is one supposed to find the right kernel for one's device? Is flashing a custom kernel the same as flashing roms?

Huge Battery-Savings with Qualcomm´s MPDECISION for Qualcomm Devices

[Q] Re-locking the Bootloader after availing Root access is possible??

As far as my understanding goes, unlocking the bootloader will disable data encryption making the device less secure; will it then be possible to relock the bootloader after gaining root access, i.e. use a device with full root functionality with a locked bootloader??

Need help to downgrade from Nougat to Stock Rom

Hi all, i've been trying to fix this for 2 days and still failed to get it working.

I regret that i quickly jump into the nougat build and would like to get back to stock rom for now.

I tried downloading all the ROMs at stock rom thread and keep on encountering error when update reached 51% with software package/update failed error message.
I'm using P9-L19 and hopefully can revert back to C636 roms.

How to change my note 5 t-mobile modem

I got myself a note 5 from t mobile few months ago.
I don't live in the states but it does work but not perfectly. When I'm on a regular 3g Antena it says I have 4g and when I'm really on 4g it shows 4g LTE. I also have some trouble with reception when other global devices work perfectly fine.

Is there any way to flash a global note 5 modem on my t mobile note 5 so that it works better?
And if so can someone provide some links and info? Can't find anything about that issue.

Slow to wake P9 & P9 Plus

I have the P9 Plus and my mom uses the P9. I've noticed a longer than usual wake up delay if there is an SDcard installed.

When pressing the power button with out an SDcard installed the device wakes up with in 1 second but if I have an SDcard installed it will add another 1 to 1.5seconds of wake time delay.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? If anyone with an SDcard wants to help me figure this out lock your device and leave it alone for at least 10 seconds then press the power button and try to observe how long the screen wakes and compare it with out an SDcard. If you just wake the phone in less than 10 seconds this then 'issue' wont appear.

The P9 is running on a B636 firmware while my P9 Plus is on C432
I've only tested it with 3 different SD cards, a Generic 16GB card, a 64Gb Sandisk UHS1 Class10 and a 128Gb Lexar Class 10 UHS1

I want to share my Headset Notifier for any Xperia devices running on stock 6.0 roms:)
It shows a notification when you plug in your headphones.
This is modded Unsupported Headset Notifier.apk,and Sony disabled the notification of plugging your headphones.
It should be working on any MM roms.

Install as normal apk or move to system/app/UnsupportedHeadsetNotifier/,and set permission rw-r-r and then reboot.(maybe need superuser mod,not sure)

ok so i made the move to remix os after receive my laptop back from repairs with a empty HDD running windows 8 rather than 10 there is no longer a free upgrade available for windows 8 to 10 so i decided to try out remix os on it looks spot on but i wanted to know if there was a way to try and access the partition windows 8 was on to erase and make into a larger storage box for things like pictures and movies. im not the tech savist when it comes to coding or anything so if i need that some screenshots or simplified directions would help

Huawei Honor 7

I rooted my huawei honor 7 with android 6.0. It wroked fine and bootloader was unlocked, twrp was successfully installed and working. after I installed supersu through twrp and rebooted, screen is black, it has power and there is light in screen but black, twrp and fastboot is working fine. need help getting the mobile working

Can't Downgrade from LOLLIPOP 5.0.2 using flashtool. please help

I had bricked my lg g2 which was running 4.4.2. i successfully got flashtool to reflash 4.2.2 and everything was working great. I was trying to go to 5.0 to play pokemon with root. So i updated the software OTA. When i got to the 5.0.2. the updated errored out when it was rebooting. Now I cant get and google services to work. i want to go back to kit kat now but the flashtool will not let me. every time i start it asks me if i want to cancel or retry. when i hit retry it doesnt work. And when i used to hit cancel it would start working anyway but it no longer works when i hit cancel either.

any help would be appreciated.

could not access recovery mode

Hi there,
When I press power key and vol- together, The tablet is started I then chose RCK, then tablet is restarted and Android Logo is appeared on the screen, after that laying Android logo with red warning triangle is appeared, but no recovery menu!!! I then press every vol+,vol-, with power down and without, but there is no chance to see the recovery menu! :(

probem with recovery htc desire 816 D816w

hi all
i unlock board and install recovery by a lot of ways and root device but when i try to flash a new rom and go to recovery mode i dont fund "install zip"
it only have menu:
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache

voicemail notification.

SM-G531H

I want to get rid of this damn voicemail notification. Clearing data and cache from settings worked for a while but now it's not working.

None of my other notifications will expand because of it and to be frank it's a pain in my tits with or without other notifications, taking up space on the bar with its fugly icon.

Any way via xposed or even changing code somewhere that would stop this pain in my rear end from showing up again?

Swapon error- Invalid argument while using roehsoft ram expander

I have a telus (AT&T type ) Samsung Galaxy S3 and I have the stock rom and my phone is rooted. Now my phone is getting too slow so I want to increase my ram and I was using roehsoft ram expander first I use the memory check swap and it showed that my phone fully supports swapping but when I started using roehsoft and tapped swap activ then it would just give me a swapon error - invalid argument and it does not increase my ram need help to figure that out please help I used my internal and an external SD card to test but both are in vain plus it always shows that my SD card has write protection whereas I can add all stuff into it! Any ways the help I need is for the invalid argument error.:(:(:(

What is AOSP?

AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.

Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod. I added also non-AOSP features for a better user experience ("Clear All" button in Recents) and I'm NOT going to add something other.



What is SUBSTRATUM?

A theme engine based on RRO. RRO (Runtime Resource Overlay) which was designed by google and its modded by our developers to include it into AOSP ROMs.In short,RRO is a Theme Engine replacement and it can do wonders!

Nor recovering from lost signal

Hi All

I got my Xperia XP for about a month and noticed my phone sometimes does not recover (restore) from lost signal. Further details:

1) Usually happens after bluetooth device connection
2) I did replace a new SIM card but same
3) SIM1 is set to be my default SIM card. When it happens, SIM1 shows no signal but never restores (I once tried to wait for 30mins and took the phone for different locations and still never restores). At that time SIM2 appears to have normal signal, but when I make call from SIM2, SIM2 signal drops to zero immediately and fails to make call.
4) Quick solution is to turn on/off the plane mode or restart

I believe this is a bug and wonder if anyone here has experienced the same?

Thanks - this is very annoying as I will miss important calls while I thought the phone was working.

So I was using Lucky Patcher and tinkering around with the play store but little did I know I messed up .com.android.vending COMPLETELY and uninstalled it and the play store because it wouldn't stop crashing and stuff then when I reinstalled it all the google apps said there's no internet connection so then I went online to find a solution and I did and I deleted hosts from etc and then I went back to play store and it seemed to work (yay!) BUT then it crashed so much and it's not a system app and I think that's the problem but all the other google apps were working 100% although I need play store to update my apps and it wont even update it'll just crash before updating or downloading anything. (I have a Rooted Device by using KingRoot and Root Explorer)

[help] My G3 doesn't accept custom Roms

Dear all, as i mentioned My LG G3 F400s doesn't accept any custom roms but no problems about stock roms
It was accepted in the past but not now, I tried everything to solve this problem but nothing work
before I used cloudy and fulmics without any issues but last month I tried to flash OTA I got Boot-looping then i used flash tools to flash kitkat.tot and rooted it to flash custom rom but I got boot-looping again
I repeated all steps and after flashed kitkat I flashed Lollipop.kdz by LGUP and it accepted but after flash the custom recovery I got "secure boot error" message
I did that many times with different versions of custom recovery and custom Rom (Cloudy and fulmics) but after all steps I got Boot-looping
Now I am using MM stock Rom but there is no root for it yet, So any help please.

[HELP] Soft-Bricked / Boot-Looping Galaxy S5 Active

Hello,

I recently tried to flash a stock NE4 Kernel onto my device and this ended up soft bricking it into a boot loop.

I have tried to wipe/factory reset my device already since I was able to get into recovery mode but to no avail.

I have tried to flash the stock ROM onto my device but I get a FAIL! (Auth) error in Odin. Specifically: G870AUCU1ANE4_G870AATT1ANE4_G870AUCU1ANE4_HOME.tar .md5

At this point I could care less whether or not it's possible to root my AT&T S5 Active, I just want to be able to use it again.

... Please help, I'm super worried I won't be able to get it back.
