Bricked S6 Edge. Am i SOL or is it salvagable

Welcome ladies and gentleman to my tail of how i ****ed up my phone. I have researched on possible ways to fix my edge but all so far have failed and possibly screwed me so i'm down to asking for any ideas, tips on how to possible "save" my phone. I attempted to root my phone via King-Root (already know a stupid idea). i forgot to turn off Knox security and when it tried to boot frp lock, and Kernel is not SEAndroid Enforcing. So i went into safe mode (idk whats the correct term for it) cleared all cache and tried to flash new firmware onto the phone, tired 3 attempts and all failed, now its stuck in an error screen reading "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recover function in the Smart Switch PC Software. I downloaded smart switch just to see if possible it would take it out of the error screen and its not recognized by smart switch. I have heard the use of certain cables effects whether smart switch will recognize the device but i am using the given Samsung micro USB cable. ( I will also ask my dad when hes back if he did anything else to the phone that he didn't tell me about) I just want to know if i have anymore options to UN-brick it, whether it would be a good idea to see if i could get my warranty by destroying the phone or if its a lost cause all together and i should just sell it to at least get some money from it. Intent filters

Ok so i used to be a very experienced actionscript user. But i recently wanted to get back into programming so im learning java now or rather trying to.

So im trying to understand the xml side of this so far and have some questions im hoping u guys can answer.

activities
So as i understand it an activity is a screen in an app. So for example the standard launcher on my phone has pages of apps on my main screens. Each one of those would be an activity? And then another activity for when i press the button to display all installed apps?

Have i understood that properly?

intent filters
This is where im getting confused. Ive googled it and read as much as i can find. As i read it, feel like someones explaining rocket science to a 5 year old.

The words component and instances is being thrown around enough that i got no clue whats even being said. What i have understood is it gives data to the activity.

So a best guess from my partwould be its telling it how the screens going to work or maybe like if theres going to be a button on it maybe. Or perhaps it means something different like just the properties sort of stuff like screen size or stuff of that nature.

As u guys can probably tell im confused beyond comprehension. I got no idea how good my grasp is of any of this. But if theres someone out there kind enough to dumb it down a bit so normal people can understand it. Id be very gratefull.

Brick phone!

I need help, my phone brick and when i try to reinstal the stock room the lg flash tool says "upgrade stopped due to an error" i try to access the recovery mode but my phone don't enter in recovery mode, i press and hold power + volume down, when the lg logo show up i loose the button and press and hold again but nothing happens, im start to feel a little worried because this never heppened with this phone.

Galaxy s5 stock firmware (help)

So yesterday, i bought my secondhand galaxy s5 on my local store, the store didn't give me the box or any document about it. so i tried to figure out if this one isn't a fake one. the label behind the battery told me that this is a g900f variant, still being curious i check the imei on imei.info and it says that this is an original g900f (i also checked the phone build on the setting menu it also said this is a proper g900f), but long story short i found out that my phone is already rooted by the previous owner, so i tried to unroot it, but when i do it the phone stuck in the bootloop, so i downloaded odin, usb driver, and a new stock rom for the g900f on my laptop, i get the phone to the download mode (odin mode? i dunno what is it called) and it said my device is a g900v variant, and when i tried to flash the g900f stock rom i always failed. now i'm confused wheter if my s5 indeed is a real g900f or a g900v. what should i do now? do i have to download a g900v stock rom, or try another g900f stock rom? :confused:

I searched the internet for a capps.zip file from COS13 to flash on my One running CM13 as the truecaller integration is absent from the dialler in the unofficial capps v2[probably modded from the COS12.1 to work with CM13] , which is the feature i liked the most,not to mention,of course, also the call receiving and in-call UI of the COS dialler... and I do not know jack about developing myself:confused: so if someone could extract the files from COS13 and make them into a flashable zip..

My phone bricked(showing as RELINK HS QDLOADER 9008 (COM11) in device manager

I have moto g 1st Gen XT1033 and it got hard bricked when I tried to reinstall Lolipop 5.1 (Now understood a wrong file for this phone). From then the device wont start, wont boot into boot loader mode, wont do anything. I tried many things which are suggested on internet but nothing worked. For now, if I long press power on button, LED flashes and nothing after that. Please help me in getting back my device into life. I tried doing a blank flash but getting below message

i9100 - Damaged USB port. Can i still root/TWRP?

Just got given an i9100 today with a faulty USB port. A new one is coming in the mail, but ebay is slow.
It charges fine so it can be used, just no data connection over USB (connects and disconnects, cleaning the port did not help)

Currently on 4.1.2, i9100XXLS9

I can get files to it via SD card, is there any methods to root it or get TWRP on it that can be done before i fix the USB port?

I dont really know how the Adreno 304 and Mali 450 compare , but the adreno is just 1 step below min requiment. And would the superior CPU make up for the lack of ram?

Dump contents of entire device (partitions), then convert to KDZ/TOT firmware image?

I have the LG v10 from T-Mobile. I bought the phone a few weeks ago and it had Marshmallow installed. Somehow I managed to install TWRP/SuperSU, but then had issues and flashed the official/stock MM image with LGUP. Afterwards I discovered that MM for this device is not currently rootable, and TWRP cant be flashed via fastboot because MM blocks it. So I returned the device to T-Mo store, lied and said it force-upgrade to MM and had began freezing up. They did an in-store trade for an identical model that had 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The device is currently still in factory condition in every way, with the exceptions that I unlocked the bootloader via fastboot and installed TWRP. Nothing else is modified yet and no custom ROMs have been flashed.

I recently became aware that there is no stock LP image for the T-Mo v10, only MM images are available. After all the issues I've had, I'm now paranoid and want to have a complete dump of the phone's entire contents (partitions, bootloader, system, etc) that is in KDZ or TOT format, and can be reflashed with the standard tools available. Since there is nothing official then I would have to do this myself. This would be useful in the event that I run into lots of issues and need to do a emergency stock restore.

I found a thread by XDA user @tungkick, in which he created a modified dump of the device while it was running LP. However, because it was unofficial and he didn't disclose this upfront, his thread was shut down. His file bricked multiple MM users. I assume it would work if one was still on LP and hadn't upgraded to MM. Not to mention that I cant seem to find his file anywhere. So I figure the safest way is to do this myself. I would be willing to make this file available to the community when finished, with full disclosure that it is unofficial. But the problem is, I don't know how.

I know that the Linux dd command can be used to dump images of various things, and I have read that this can be done on PC by connecting to the device via ADB or fastboot. This would hopefully result in an image file that contained the contents of all the device's partitions.

But another issue would be converting it to KDZ or TOT. And it would have to be done in such a way that it would be flashable with the standard tools.

Can someone please give me a technical understanding of the tools and knowledge I would need to undertake this? Would it be too complicated for someone like myself that has little Android/Linux experience (but is generally competent with computers/technology)?

Strange wifi issue in new mm update

I recently came back from Dr ketan mm build 3 to stock rom 6.0.1 for n910g iju so for new may patch in setting under development section I am seeing new option for networking as shown in screens hots.
When I got back suddenly my wifi behaving strange sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't .I don't know why.before coming back to stock I wiped all data and cache everything.i don't know may be it's bcs of this new setting or what?has anyone else experienced this problem?

Portable Storage

I do not have root,but I was able to get portable storage. I was just tinkering around and went ahead and clicked format. It then told me that it format to portable storage. It's weird,because I can't use ES File Pro,but I can use stock file manager to move files to my micro SD. I do not have root(Sprint Phone),nor did I use ADB. You can see proof in screenshots below.

Help Unbrick S4 Mini I9190. None is working !!!

Hello,
I am trying to unbrick my S4 mini I9190. It is rooted with CWM recovery and Stock Rom. Suddenly, it stop working and keep restarting at Samsung Logo screen. I can still enter both recovery and download modes; but all the methods I tried failed so far. I tried:
1) To install new stock Rom (downloaded from Sammobile) using odin. The process finished successfully and the phone restarted normally but then stuck again at Logo-screen. Recovery remains CWM and did not changed to stock samsung recovery !!!
2) I tried to install custom CWM Rom (cm-13.0-20160428-NIGHTLY-serrano3gxx.zip) through SD-Card from CWM Recovery screen but installation keeps failing. Also using Sideload fails.
3) If I tried to wipe / factory reset, it started a bit then suddenly the phone restarted.
4) If I tried to wipe Dalvic cach, I got the error E: unknown volume for path [/sbfs].
5) Installing new Recovery image (CWM: recovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-serranoltexx.tar.md5) through odin seems not working. Nothing happen even odin says every time ""All threads completed. (succeeded 1 / failed 0".

Any Ideas what to do ?!! How I can fix the Problem and unbrick my Phone !!!!:crying:

May I know what your scores are for AnTuTu Benchmark 6.1.4 (PadFone S)?

I just scored 55756 and it seems to be much more higher than those found online. I just added some thermal paste to some of the components (on the shields) and was curious if it actually worked.

Flashing stock ROM

Hi guys,I have SM-G900F ,i rooted my phone and installed TWRP,after some time i unrooted with SuperSu,now i cant update my phone and i want to flash Stock ROM so i could update it normally through OTA update.I saw in Phone info that my CSC code is SEE(South East Europe),so i downloaded that firmware and Odin but i need little bit more information.Im scared if i get in bootloop or brick my phone,any suggestions to do before flashing stock ROM?Thanks :)

Fingerprint scanner and Bank Apps

I was just curious if anyone has successfully been able to set up and use fingerprint unlock for bank apps like chase or bank of America? The apps themselves have you register the fingerprint, but after that I have never been able to actually use it to unlock the app. I am using Skydragon H2OS rom, and was wondering if any other roms work with this feature.

Why call recording does not work On LG Nexus 5X

I find call recording a very useful and important feature. I have tried all the call recorder but none of them work on LG Nexus 5X, also there are no rom with the feature baked in.
We have excellent knowledge and talent on XDA could someone please explain why it does not work?

Sprint Galaxy S6 Kernel Hackery (Broken Screen)

Hi there XDA. Long time lurker, first time poster. Many general thanks to everyone over the years.

So my screen completely gave out a couple of days, but the phone still works. I can still make voice commands etc. I recently lost my other computer where i did most of my ADBing from, so when i hook it up to my temporary laptop, adb is returning "unauthorized." Basically what I want to do is try something like: http://ift.tt/1qEWMRE but none of the tools i've found is allowing me to modify any of the kernel boot.img i've found. Unpacking works, but repacking is failing somewhere. It is making a .img file but when attempting to reunpack it just errors out. The new boot.img is also about 2K smaller than original which shoiuldn't be the case as I added 3 lines of text to the build.prop file.

So, I ask, does anyone know of a preexisting adb debug enabled and open (no auth required) kernel that I can fastboot? If not, does anyone know of any tools that can properly unpack/repack a boot.img for the S5. Finally, any other potential options of gaining control over my phone for the next week or so while awaiting a replacement? I can also install apps from the google play store, idk if any have services that will start automatically after rebooting that would basically give me VNC type access?

S7 Edge stops music streaming after screen locks

Hi, I have S7 Edge, I'm trying to stream music with internet radio app but it's stop streaming after 2-5 minutes when screen is locked.
I tried many internet radio apps but it happens with all kind of apps, so I think it's a phone issue.
P.S: I tired to play with power saving options in phone settings but it doesn't help.

So I asking if someone have the same issue, or maybe someone knows how to fix it?

Damn i dunno what to do..

I love both of them but can't come to decision.

Does the HTC 10 worth that extra 100-200$?

The Nexus 6P will cost me around 700$
(Here in my country :()
So that's mean the HTC 10 will be around 800$ maybe.

I have LG G4 for 5-6 months, before i had HTC One M8 for a year and a half and i so miss him specially the speakers and design.

Unfreeze a system app without root

Hi, i have frozen the update center of my galaxy s6 with titanium backup.
Since that, I have unrooted my phone, installed 6.0.1 Rom, and now I have a problem : the update center is still frozen.
Do you know how to unfreeze it? When I go to settings/applications/ the "activate" button is grey...

Relock Bootloader and Warranty

Hi.
Somewhere, I've read that after relocking the Bootloader, one can see that it was unlocked before. Is that really so?
Can someone tell me what the Bootloader status says, after relocking?
I don't want to run that procedure just to be able to see what the status is.

Trouble connecting to pc - usb access to file system

Running the latest Omni rom, and having problems connecting the phone to the pc for usb file transfer.
- Oppo find 7a running latest Nightly Omni rom with LVM
- Windows 10

The pc makes the connection sound but nothing shows up in the file explorer, under device an "android" device shows up but nothing there works either. I can see a "google nexus adb interface" in the hardware tab when running ptp and mtp.

Tried the following :
- Switching usb settings from charging to mtp / ptp and back via the notification and in developer options
- Installing several drivers for the oppo
- Checking if the ADB connection is there , works, sideload works
- Pausing antivirus (Eset)
- Usb 3.0 and Usb 2.0 ports on the pc

Strange is that when the phone was running coloros everything worked instantly.
Omni is great but this is a problem, can still transfer files via adb and the FX app via wifi but it would be nice to have full speed the normal way via an usb cable and mtp.

Can't find obb folder! Some help?

Ive used my droid turbo for 18 month or so. I always enjoy the convenience of installing an app first and drag data into the obb folder under emulated/0/Android.
But yesterday, I can't find it anymore(all those app data is not lost). I wanted to create a new obb folder but the phone tell me that the folder already exists. When I connect the phone to my computers(both mac and windows), I still can't find the obb folder and as I drag in a blank obb folder that I've just created, my phone crashed and restart. I used shell to check permission and it turns out the folder is there and I have full permission to Read and Write. And I backed up my device and give it a wipe. But no luck.
So, I know that the obb folder is still there, but hidden. I think it may be the Es explorer since the problem happens after I used es explorer to clean app residue after deleting an app which could trigger the write protection?
So Im bit frustrated after working on the issue or this long. So Im asking you guys, have you ever run into issues like this? Is there a viable solution?

Official unlock bootloader said unlocked, but it did not work

Need advice please. Had permission to unlock phone , used mi unlock tool, unlock completed 100%, but phone is still locked. Tried unlock again, at 50% stops and says no need to unlock, so guess it thinks it is unlocked, It is the snapdragon model which according to what I have read should unlock on global stable 7.2.3.0.
Tried to request new unlock from mi, their system will not let you request second one,I have read the unofficial method, I'm reasonable on flashing but the warnings put me off. Any ideas how to proceed? Thanks

Redstone Emoji for Telegram, WhatsApp & build 10586

The new Redstone emoji are awesome, but the release is only in July, if you want to have the new emoji on build 10586 now, I'm uploading the original file here (password: !TBNn7YHqVkN0ChLS18SGq5Apmy0LJVmMrCNbOy4AdGw). It works and was tested on my Lumia 830 & 630. To use the file you can follow the instructions from this thread. (No need to edit the file)

The file is not the same from the PC version, using the PC version also seemed to work on the emulator but I did not test on a phone. Anyway, much safer to use the file from the phone.

Oh, and you can also use the ninja cat emojis, though not directly available in the keyboard you can still input typing two emojis:
Cat + Silhouette = Ninja Cat
Cat + Laptop = Ninja Cat on Laptop
Cat + Dragon = Ninja Cat riding T-Rex
Cat + Rocket = Ninja Cat with Space clothing
Cat + Motorcycle = Flying Ninja Cat (Motorcycle is not available through the keyboard, but shows when you write motorcycle)
Cat + Coffee = Ninja Cat with Coffee (does not work, and I don't know why)

Obviously only those that are using the redstone emoji will see the ninja cat, as only they have the support.

Now you might have noticed that both Telegram and WhatsApp always display the ugly iOS emoji. Well, I changed that.

I went on a huge work to export the font files to svgs and then to pngs, not an easy job seeing these are non-standard and not all software managed to deal with it very well. Also needed to rename the files according with the Unicode values and place them inside the collection files. I guess this all took much more than 24 hours of work time, as it took me more than a week to accomplish. The result however is awesome, as now I can have these great emoji rather than the horrible iOS version.

To install you need Full FS Access, the readme inside the file tells you where to replace the files. Every update from the apps will replace the files to the iOS emoji so you'll need to replace the files again. But since the updates are not that much frequent, replacing the files takes just a few seconds and the result is awesome it should not be a hassle. ;D

On WhatsApp I needed to create some custom emoji as the family emojis are too wide for the square WhatsApp expects. And for you homosexual couples I created the homosexual couples with a heart emojis on WhatsApp since Microsoft forgot about them.

Tell me if you find any bug with them or if Microsoft updated any emoji.

Bricked Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100

I was flashing a Rom when out of nowhere, status 7 appears. It booted lots of times, and now won't turn on. When I plug it to the wall, it shows the battery about to charge, like waiting, but no charging. The computer recognize it for a second, and won't boot recovery or download. Pls help.

[MM]FB Messenger Video Call Low Volume on Speaker

Is it just me or Z2 speaker is really quiet when doing fb video call. I can barely hear the person I'm talking to.
I don't think it's the app cause in other phones, volume seems to be easily heard.

Plug in ellipsis 8 tablet via usb to quickly congifure settings and install apks

Hey Everyone,

Noob question I have a couple hundred ellipsis 8 I'll be needing to deploy soon and I'm trying to find a way to plug the tablet into a computer(mac/windows) via usb to enable in the settings apps from unknown sources and turn gps to high. I'd also want apps to be moved to the device (installed) rather than me dragging them to the downloads folder and installing them one by one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my current process is very time consuming and my googling has turned up nothing.

Android Pay not work until unistall XPOSED

It shows "Android Pay can't be used Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android compatible" when I try to add a card.
It does not work when I disable root.
It does not work until I uninstall XPOSED with uninstaller zip.

I just want to know if any Idea to enable XPOSED with Android Pay work? Any hidden module??

Run X11 apps on BQ M10 Ubuntu tablet

Seems like nobody talked about this method. So I'm posting it here.
First of all, install X11 apps using apt-get. You need to first remount your root as read-write:
sudo mount -o remount,rw /

Then, you can first start a builtin X11 app, for example the gedit app from scope. And then run this in terminal:

LG G4 Drivers crashing computer

Flashed hboot-eng.img on HTC desire HD and phone wont boot

Hi,
I have flashed the hboot-eng.mg in an attempt to get s-off onto my htc desire hd, and now it wont boot at all, no signs of life. The battery has died though, and now if i plug it in to my windows computer I can use ADB, but I cannot get into fastboot or hboot. I need help getting back to stock hboot. Before getting bricked, it was s-on, unlocked bootloader, running cyangenmod 12 with twrp 2.8.7.0. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Chuwi Hi * Rooting Issues

I just received my Chuwi Hi 8 Tablet today and have been unsuccessfully tried rooting it. I have tried the one click rooters, I have tried the method listed on here and Tech Tablets and nothing seems to be working.

When using the Tech Tablets method I don't seem to be auto rebooting into the CWM recovery in order to flash UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip. What I get is this for script:

Problem with the apn setting

Recently unlocked my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. I decided to transfer my sim from my iPhone to my Samsung. I can text and call but my mobile data is not working. I believe it has something to do with my apn settings. But once I try to go to my apn settings it says "Unable to view access point name. Access is restricted to current user profile.

Would love to have someone to help me fix this problem.

Home and recent button disabled

Hi all,
After hooking my phone up to a car stereo, the home and recent key stopped working.
Let me explain:
I just bought a Pioneer avh-x5800dab, with a built in feature that makes it possible to mirror your android device to your head unit. When i unplugged my phone from the head unit, the recent and home button stopped working.
The recent button lights up when i press it, and i can wake and unlock my phone with the home key. Also, both keys works in TWRP. So to me it seems android has unmapped the keys.
Back key works as normal.
I am running KryxOS R1.3
What i have tried so far:
Wipe cache and dalvik.
Uninstalled all apps related to the pioneer head unit.
Dirty flashed the rom.

I would prefer not to clean flash the rom again. Any help and suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

SMS Stickers stored?

Hey all in SMS when you have enhanced messaging turned on there is chat stickers, does anyone know where these are stored as would love to add more if possible? these are found in the smiley section and includes hippo / cats / tigers etc and only work in SMS chat! not standard SMS (S6 to S6 people edge feature)

Nexus 9 charging issue

As the charger is connected, I play alot, then sometimes it charges itself no more, even if it get cold now.

I can't figure it out. I just checked in the App Ampere.

It is connected. But it doesn't charge anymore. Until I pull the connect out and reconnect.

I've never had a device like that.

is there someone play game hard with this device?

One time my friend owes me a hundred bucks and he asked me to pay back by buying me coffee, movie, dinner, etc until the balance is settled. So I came with an idea called IOU One. The purpose is to pay back your friends via favors. I have created a new website: iou-one.today

Help turning off oem lock on broke Sm-G530T

My phone screen is broken and it remains black while the phone is on. I can't enable adb debugging because of this or unlock oem.

Is there a way I can odin an unlocked oem bootloader or something similar that would work so i can install a custom recovery and use adb through it?

Bluetooth Stack Protocols

Hi Everyone, I'm new here - just made an account because I cannot figure this problem out. I just started playing around with Xposed and I LOVE it by the way! but unfortunately that's not why I'm here. I have a Headrush bluetooth headset, it's great, has a built in mic, a2dp & works for calls even on a old ipod touch 4th gen for some reason though, my Lenovo a-5500f a8 ideatab running android 4.4.2 won't read the mic, I only have the media option, no call option.

I don't know what to do. there's like nothing at all on this, I read ONE forum that someone was experiencing my problem, and the only answer was that it's most likely because it's a WiFi tablet & wasn't meant to make phone calls on. I love my tablet & my headphones & would really be blown away if I could find a solution to this. I'm good with Linux & Windows, just learning Android stuff & it's really similar to Linux so it's not too far off, but I'm so clueless on this..

So an overview: my tablet won't detect the mic/phone call protocol for this headset, the headset works 100% on all other devices except for my new tablet.. I also have a few USB OTG's, is it possible I could perhaps run another bluetooth through a OTG? SixAxis works great, I can connect a controller, but not this mic..

any brainstorming to this helps, thank you.

long pressing the home button won't launch google now

Hello all,

I am having an issue with my s7 edge. When I long press the home button it won't launch google now (no, I don't mean on tap). Long pressing will just launch the white bubble w/o the google logo and then nothing....it won't take me to google search. Is there a fix?

Charging problems.. Please help

Suddenly I'm having charging problems. It's not the cord going bad. It's actually the part that plugs in. If I wiggle it one direction it loses connection.. It also won't fast charge anymore. The other day I'd plug it in and it would say dock connected instead of charging... There's a possibility water or condensation got into the charging port on my phone but I'm not sure. Any ideas on how to fix?

heating while boot up

My m8 is heating to much when I do restart or use any apps normally for 5 minutes and the battery drain is the main thing my battery is draining 1% per 3 minute's I don't have idea what's wrong with my phone I tried to clean install multiple roms or used wakelock detector but no success. please help me😅

Cant flash custom ROM

Hi,

my t mobile N3 came with stock 5.0 L

i rooted it with CF auto root (went OK) and then flashed TWRP ( latest )

recovery , root all work fine except the fact that i cant flash any roms, twrp is working perfectly , it makes nandroid back up, but when i start to flash a rom, the logs start and when it says " initializing aroma installer" , the recovery re boots and im back to TWRP main menu

so far, ive tried Dominion V12 and DOM POP rom and same problems occurs to both. i follow every instruction to the letter but IDK why this issue is coming,,

any help will be welcum !

Can't Flash CF Auto Rooter: Custom Binary (Recovery) blocked from FRP lock

I have a brand new G930F. I completed the setup process and got all my apps and settings configured.

I would like to root it, but when I try to flash chainfire's auto-root in ODIN, I get the message:
"Custom Binary (Recovery) blocked from FRP lock".
At which point I have to hold power till it dies and restart it.

I'm not bricked or anything, I just can't flash the rooter. Any ideas?

and now I see that the china rom is 6.4.28
can I use the china rom? is there any problem?

HELP!!! stuck at boot loader

I've unlocked the boot loader and installed the TWRP 3.0.2 in my moto E dual sim , after that i 've made the backup also for the stock rom, then i wanted to install the new rom so i have downloaded it and placed in the external storage with the Gapps .. but when m trying to install everything is getting installed and after thatit is getting stuck at the bootloader . steps what i did is
1) wipe
factory reset/davik cache/data/cache
2)install the roms and gapps

even i've tried to restore the system but still it is remaining same only

How can I root my Galaxy S5? It was At&t, i brought it over to Straight Talk

I purchased my friends S5 which was from AT&T and then I used the BYOP plan with Straight Talk. How do I root this? I tried Towelroot and it says its not supported. Also what ROMs can I get with this if any? I want to root to get rid of all the at&t pre installed apps on here that I cant use with Straight talk. Also pretty new to this. I have Odin on my laptop from installing stock firmware on my S3. Any help with root and ROMs would be much appreciated.

Screen flick

Hi there, i am using samsung galaxy s5 When the screen brightness is lowered to the lowest setting, the screen begins to flicker. Raising the brightness a few notches stops the flickering. I have not dropped the phone or exposed it to water – the issue started out of the blue and it's driving me mad! This problem started last 3weeks when i flashed cm13 but i don't think that was the cause, i have tried screen overlay thing on devs options also tried gpu rendering things, turned off the adoptive display. All came out with nothing. Please help.

Can you Encrypt Exhibit T599n with Custom Rom?

Can anyone verify the ability to successfully encrypt this device with any custom rom 4.4.4 or newer?

I've tried Omnirom 4.4.4, Carbon 4.4.4 and Meticulus' CM12.1

But all have failed to encrypt despite my best efforts.
CM12.1 wouldn't even encrypt with instructed via ADB.

Yuphoria recovery mode problem

My Yuphoria is bricked but I have a twrp backup. The problem is it doesnt go into recovery mode with hardware keys. For previously going to recovery mode I used rashr.apk but stuck on bootloop. So what to restore backup but cant boot to recovery..someone help??

Love-Mei Aluminium Case for Z5 Premium

I've got the Z5 premium recently and was very eager to get an otterbox/spigen case on it,sadly nothing,zilch,nah-dah...only cheap plastic cases and expensive aluminium bumpers.

So i found this,the love-mei case.its is also a cheap knockoff of the lunatik case for crapple's iphones (apple has more accessory selections).and decided to do a first ever review of this case.

Items included in the package -
1. rubber casing
2.aluminium outer case
3.screws to secure case & mini allen key
4.other rubbish that adds weight & wastes space.(lanyard,alcohol wipes..)
5.promotional booklet to make you want to spend your dough.(doesn't work for me)

Pros -
1.feels like an otterbox defender case but with scaled up bad ass aluminium metal.
2.encases the phone fully with easy access to dedicated button,earphone jacks and charging port which also serves as dust protectors.
3.makes your z5p looks even bigger than it already is,sort of like how starsaber (from transformer g1victory(japanese anime))merge and become a robot)
4.keeps your phone really safe.i was more worried about making a dent on my floor tiles or hurting my foot than breaking my phone.
5.helps you do weights while running.
6.a good alternative to the otterbox defender case (not that there was one for the z5p to begin with)

Cons -
1. make your phone feels like a brick.
2.no easy access to sim/sdcard (not that it matters)
3.blocks out the indication lights.
4.taking out the earphone jack is going to be a pain.
5.if someone tries to rob you,this is the next best thing to a knuckle duster (not really a con)
6.no more phone eye candy.

after thoughts -
i have used both otterbox (almost all my phones) and spigen (on my shortlived note 3),this case is a new one for me.i like the idea that it keeps my phone really safe and in a really sturdy case but i do not like the idea of holding a brick nor transforming and adding bulk to an already big phone.

I believe the Aluminum used is not aircraft grade, hence the weight. protection wise,i assure you, if you chose to use this to knock some sense into an idiot, it will be an unforgettable one.

The screen protector used seems to be some glass with cheap/pseudo Oleophobic coating and is still a fingerprint magnet but not a very good one.

i think this case is more for those who have to take their phones outdoors or places where things gets rough pretty quickly.i work in an office environment,so using this is like wearing medieval steel armor into the office while pushing papers.

overall ratings (5 being best) -

• What is XOSP and how was it born?
  • XOSP basically which stands for the Xperia Open Source Project was a project originally created by me for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) and the project was created like 2 years ago when that time XOSP wasn't even existing.
